According to WotC, an Adventure Path is "a series of related adventures intended to form a complete D&D campaign that takes your players from 1st level all the way to [the highest level they can attain]." In the case of a D&D 4e game, that's 30th level. For a 3.x or Pathfinder game, that's 20th level.

The Adventure Path Index at adventurepaths.com tries to be a master index and resource site for these mega-campaigns.

Why? Because adventure paths are big confusing things that their publishers have not generally done a very good job of organizing. Now we mean no disrespect to the content and stories of the modules themselves, which comprise some of the best published adventures ever written, but it can be pretty difficult for a GM to keep track of everything they needs to know to successfully pull off one of these behemoth games. This site is here to help out, at least in some small way.
